So when I was in AZ over Christmas break everyone was shared their blogs. Then when I went back to school for winter semester, everyone else had a blog. I started to feel old fashioned without one! And I love to fill myself in on everyone else, so I thought that maybe someone else might want to do the same…

I figured I would start with Christmas break, which was amazing! I flew into sunny California to hang out with Melissa and Jake. They left a few days later and it was a quiet Christmas with just Cecilie and me at home. Christmas day was so fun with cousins and family and lots and lots and lots of good food!

Cecilie and dad and I went to see Body Worlds, which was quite amazing. It’s a museum display with cadavers in different positions to show anatomy. Cecilie wasn’t sure if I knew the difference between the genders, so she felt it pertinent to point out which gender each cadaver was. Thanks, Cecilie. We saw some pretty amazing dissections, the nervous system, cardiovascular… and of course my favorite, the digestive system ;)

We headed out to warm AZ for the New Year to welcome cute little Maren Elizabeth Bain into our family, and the world! We got to hang out with some of the Bain family and some of Jen’s (my sister-in-law) family. We went geocashing and found some prized possessions (like a book of boats for Parker, my nephew).

We also tried to convince Parker and Caleb to sleep in a tent with us. It seemed like a great idea until we actually started to carry out the plan. We set up the tent, and it was all fun and games. Cecilie and I didn’t want to go to bed at 8 like the boys would, so we decided that we would just get them to sleep out there (because it was “exciting to sleep in a tent) and then bring them inside to sleep there. When we started going out to the tent after we got them ready for bed, Parker asked me where my pajamas were… good question Parker! No sooner had we reached the tent when Caleb pointed toward the house where everyone was still having a good time, and wanted to go back. We told them we would stay out there for 10 minutes and then go in. All we did was get off our shoes and they were ready to put them back on and head in. We walked back in the door and everyone couldn’t help but laugh that we couldn’t even get them to last a minute. Maybe next year…bain-little-fam.jpg

It was great to be home. It seems like we spent most of the time in AZ, but I loved the break from the snow!
