I am finally home for Christmas!  Since I’ve been here (less than 12 hours) I’ve been looking at all the cards and letters my parents have received and it made me want to look through old photos.  I’ve unsurfaced some good ones that were scanned from slides, check these out!

We LOVED playing with Mr. Potato Head parts, and I have a sad picture and a happy picture, but the sad one was cuter

We have lots of pictures sitting on dad’s lap reading to us.  I just thought my facial expression was priceless

CHEESEEEEEE!  Who knows what Melissa is holding… not me

All of my siblings had the chicken pox, but I was unlucky.  Why would I miss out on taking off my shirt and a photo op just because I don’t have the chicken pox?!

I used to love reading.  I had to look at this photo twice to make sure it really was me, I don’t share that enthusiasm any more apparently

I love these pictures!  They make me sad to grow old.  It’s fun to be back home, and it kinda makes me sad to not live at home and remember the ridiculous things we put our parents through!

I went longboarding yesterday!  I’m pretty sure it’s winter, but it’s beautiful weather.  I haven’t been longboarding (especially down the Provo Canyon) since I crashed in August.  It wasn’t an awful crash but I did end up scraping my hands and my arm pretty bad, and I ended up getting an infection and over $100 to paying the Student Health Center… lame.  I went a lot slower than Jana and Jensen this time, but it was SO fun to be on a longboard again!

Then last night we went to Red Robin, and it was amazing!  Lindsay is a girl whose ward I lived in last year.  She found this beautiful grill in her purse and decided it would be a good idea to order her food with these teeth in.  The waiter couldn’t understand her, and he avoided eye contact with her the whole night until she took them out to eat!

The waiter was pretty cool though, because when we were done with our food he asked whose birthday it was… nobody’s?  So we all at one point said it was each of our birthday’s and got free ice cream cake!  It was tasty, I recommend Red Robin for a birthday!

I have the best family ever December 2, 2008

Nothing I will write here will do justice to the wonderful Thanksgiving I had.  My whole family (including Cecilie this time, she was a little bitter about being left out of the 4th of July happenings) came out to AZ to be together!  How I just love family!

Eric and Jen are amazing hosts’ and I’m a little bit jealous that the Hoffman’s are going out there for Christmas or I might figure out how to go out there again…  They treated us to everything wonderful in the desert.

To avoid boring anybody (but you did choose to read this post) so I’ll summarize the high points in no particular order:

-Dad making a car for Parker and Caleb

-playing hand and foot (Jen’s favorite game and she converted me, thanks Jen!) until wee hours of the night (except normal hours for a college student)

cards

-Parker, Caleb, and Maren all of whom are always cute even when they are giving attitude.  They loved playing with the cell phones and I took a picture where they all have a phone and are playing with them, thank goodness for technology right?

-Ostrich Farm and the crazy redneck girl who drove the monster truck and told us we were going through the “Grand Canyon” when it was really just a really big ditch…

-Desert Museum, I LOVE Arizona’s landscape and we saw a beautiful cloudy sky and green vista – BREATHTAKING!

-Eric’s delectable Thanksgiving dinner, he’s an amazing cook.  No thanks to me when every dish I attempted to make was a disaster.  I forgot to put the whipped cream in the pumpkin custard pie, I didn’t cook the rice completely in the Jambalaya, tripling the recipe for cornbread stuffing which was WAY too dry, I can’t remember the others but I KNOW there were more mishaps…

-cute family pictures for the Bain family, doesn’t happen all that often that the general concensus is that we like them

-being with family: priceless.  I love you all!

yes Jake, I got all of these pictures from your facebook album.  You just take way too amazing of pictures to not appreciate them!
