it’s a beautiful day, don’t let it get away!

So I’ve had the best few weeks, seriously!  I’ll start at the very beginning.  I’m not sure where that is though.  BUT, the most exciting news is the cute little nephew that we welcomed 2 weeks ago!  Mr. Rushton Ray Spurlock (can’t you just hear a cute little kid with a speech impediment saying Wushton, I can and I love it!) was born February 22, 2009.  If I give you all the measurements they’ll be wrong, so I’ll just post a picture.  Seriously, he’s a cute baby.  And for all of you that believe that babies can’t be cute, you’ve never held or seen Rushton!  While my mom was in town helping Rushton, Melissa and Jake she called him every cute nickname: babykins, pumpkin, babycakes, munchkin, Rushman, I probably made up a few of those myself.  Either way, everything about him is perfect.  Nieces and nephews are the best because 1. I’m related to them and I can claim that I have the same genes they do 2. they aren’t mine so when they cry I hand them to the parentals 3. they are infinitely more adorable when you’re related to them (in a totally unbiased way)!

Enough blabbing, here’s Rushton!  Welcome to the world cute Rushton, I wish you a happy and prosperous life!

And if you’re like me and can’t get enough of him, you can see more pictures of him on Jake’s flickr account.

This little bundle of joy is the reason that I’ve had a hard time concentrating on school (except that I’ve had senioritis for a while, I don’t know which one is more of a factor).  Instead I got to go hang out with my mother and Melissa and Jake.  However!  Since last time I worte something about my life I have: ordered a cap and gown, ordered graduation announcements, bought skinny jeans (more like straight leg jeans), tried looking for a job for the summer and given up, and been to the Draper Temple!  I’ve also been hanging out with my really good friend Emiline helping her plan her wedding, except I think I’m more there for comic relief.  But she picked out an amazing dress, and she is a beautiful bride already!  I’m pretty juiced to be one of her bride’s maids!  Also, my bff Erin had a baby (Julia) and I went to her baby’s blessing last week.  The last time I saw her family was when she got married 3ish years ago, but every time I am around them I love them more!

If any of you are wondering what I’m doing after graduation, I am too.  I won’t find out until around finals.  I might be doing an internship, I might not.  When I figure it out I’ll let the world know.  The economy seems to be affecting everything, so I might be going with Plan K.

And on a closing note, here’s one of my newfound favorite SNL skits (it’s clean, I promise!)

My By Myself

Also, my newfound favorite songs:

Michael Buble – Save the Last Dance For Me

Michael Buble – Everything
